The 1st track from the new Dark Flowers album 'Indian Summer' was released on 24/10/24. 'Green Plastic Bullets' features Gabriella Cilmi and is a darkly beguiling track from the badlands of the US Midwest again mined from Sam Shepards book of prose/poetry 'Motel Chronicles', which explores the underbelly of the American heartland with its small towns/motels/characters. This book informs the new album as it did the debut album Radioland. The new album features Cilmi alongside former Bauhaus and Love & Rockets bassist/vocalist David J, Indie songstress The Anchoress, Red Sky Julys Shelly Poole and Simple Minds Jim Kerr. B-Movie , Pauls Post Punk 80's band finally got their master recordings back after 40 years ! and true to old style, no digital files on a hard drive, but a huge cardboard box full of 1/4 inch and 2 inch master tapes! They all needed baking then transferring to digital but it means that the band can actually release the original versions of their most well known songs as the bands followers have been putting up with dreadful early 4 track demos and inferior covers.
With Spotify and Apple Music followers of over 80,000 monthly followers they deserve the real thing!

Praise for 'Generation Blitz - Dusk to Dawn'
"Album of the Year' - The Electricity Club
"Generation Blitz is quite a puzzle-box of a compilation. It successfully manages to invoke the spirit of a classic era, but also marries it with a solid selection of contemporary electropop tunes. But the sheer kaleidoscopic nature of the album’s styles and approaches means that there’s unlikely to be a listener who will walk away disappointed." Electricity Club
“ …a fabulous array of moody pop and electronic freakouts.” Classic Pop (4/5 Stars)
“A hugely enjoyable compilation of contemporary electronic artists.” Electronic Sound
“This is a proper celebration of the New Romantic movement that includes specific references to the period.”... more

2 co writes with former X Factor finalist Janet Devlin are used on her new album'Confessional'. The 1st 'Away With The Fairies' details her teenage battle against alcoholism and was a UK (and her 1st US single release) ahead of the album
Essential Pop magazine saying
'Janet explores the mind’s ability to disassociate with its surroundings – to be ‘away with the fairies’ – a personal reality that stemmed from her struggle to survive hidden addictions.
The carefree nature of the track is at odds with the story at its heart; whimsical verses juxtaposed against a life that was anything but.
Dipped in mandolin, bodhran and cello, with a fluttery piano riff and lilting melody, strikes a comforting, familiar tone and returns the singer-songwriter to the sounds of her Irish roots. The addition of a harp brings a mystical, ethereal feel to the song.'
Whilst 'so Cold' received great critical reviews
'The album dives straight in with ‘So Cold’, an icy, heartbreaking tune about depression and loss. “I’d still sleep with the lights on, but I don’t sleep anymore”, she sings over a gorgeous piano melody, before the actual chorus comes in with the haunting lyrics: “You’re too young to be sad they say,
you’re too young to be so cold.” Although the subject matter is heavy, the song itself is a perfectly crafted radio friendly pop anthem with hooks, a flawless build up and her signature tender vocal style.'

The 1st, 'Absence' explored the feelings created by deserted children's play parks and their relation to the happiness/unhappiness as experienced by the artist as a child. Held in the small hand built children's theatre hidden away behind the chapel in the castle, and with an accompanying sound collage, all the elements combined to make a memorable, if unsettling experience.
